New Hope Youth Fellowship Welcomes You

Mission Statement:

Youth Ministry is a process, not a program, by which youth are led to a deeper relationship with Christ and a deeper commitment to the work of the church in the world. It is a process that transforms people from being willing participants in church programs to being people whose lives are committed to being the body of Jesus Christ. This was taken from the Youth Ministries guideline (0-687-03561-9).

"Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." (I Timothy 4:12)

The Youth Ministry at New Hope UMC is for grades 6 through 12. We offer teenagers the opportuinity to have fun and grow deeper in their relationship with Christ through worship, fellowship, service, evangelism, and discipleship. NHUMC has numerous activities, events and small groups where youth a can learn, grow, strengthen their faith and make friends.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a program intended to shape and prepare our sixth grade students to claim the name "Christian" and claim the name "United Methodist." Please contact the Pastor to arrange for Confirmation classes.

Camping

The mission of United Methodist Camp and Retreat Ministry is to create environments of Christian hospitality and learning designed to help people affirm and expand their faith in God, learn spiritual practices of Christian discipleship, grow in wisdom and in healthy self-esteem, establish lifestyles of loving interdependence with one another and all God's creation, and develop as spiritual leaders who serve to enhance the common good.



UMYF

This Christian chat room was designed for Christian youth groups to join together and have a place on the net to call their own! Whether you vist to chat with other youth or whether you vist to just kick back and see what other youth groups around the world are doing, this is a safe and central place for Christian youth to gather on the Internet.



Chrysalis

This site has information about Chrysalis (the youth Walk to Emmaus), a three-day spiritual retreat for youth and college-age young adults.



Devozine

The Devo'zine website offers health and help information for teens, teen chat, a "Prayer Wall," and information about the print version of Devo'zine.

Pancake & Sausage Breakfast

 Camera The Pancake & Sausage Breakfast that took place on May 17, 2008 was a great success. The Youth Ministry Team collected over $700 in donations for the breakfast and there was an additional $172 in donations for items that were on sale. All donation´s will help support New Hope UMC´s Youth Summer Camp Fund. Our thanks go to the Youth Ministry Team, James Loftis, Jr. & Stephanie Loftis for a job well done. Also, a big thank you to all of the volunteers: Madison Loftis; Lee and Debbie Stallings; David & Pat Capps; Sharon Darnell; Lee Lambertson; Diana Lambertson; Bob Murphy; Kaleb Darnell; and Jessika Yezdanian.
