Children's Ministry

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it”.--Proverbs 22:6
Vision & Mission

Our vision at New Hope United Methodist Church is to create the most innovative and imaginative children’s ministry that will bring God’s love to a new generation. Our mission is to partner with families to reach and teach children in such a way that they have the greatest opportunity to become fully developed followers of Jesus Christ.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School program is created to meet the growing needs of children. Interactive Bible lessons are designed to present the message of God's love in a language children understand with memborable activities that have a lasting impact.

Children's Church

Children of all ages are welcome at the 9:00 a.m. worship service. The Children’s Sermon is a highlight of every worship experience as the Pastor creatively engages our imaginations and our hearts by inviting all children forward to learn with the Children's Church teacher.

Children's ChurchFollowing the Children's Sermon, the children are invited to Children's Church, which is held every Sunday except Holy Communion Sunday (first Sunday of each month). Children's Church, is "Just For Kids" ages 3 through 7 years (2nd grade).

These parent led sessions are an important part of our children's worship experience. Teachers lead the children to the classroom for a fun filled atmosphere where kids learn about God through worship, bible lessons, games, and small group teaching. It is a place where any child can feel welcome and comfortable in a loving and relaxed environment. We ask that parents pick their children up immediately following worship.

Noah's Nook Nursery

Nursery

Children are precious at New Hope United Methodist Church, and we strive to make our nursery fun and stimulating for even the youngest child coming through our door. While we realize it can be difficult to leave your child in the care of others, we want to assure you that our caregivers have genuine love for the work they do. Our nursery is staffed by experienced caregivers. We offer a loving, Christian atmosphere. Our nursery room is safe, fun and filled with age-appropriate toys, games and books. Nursery care is available for Worship Service. We are able to care for infants and toddlers through age 3.

Gym and Playground

Playground

The gym and playground are open for parent-supervised play. Please do not leave children unattended.

Vacation Bible School

VBS

New Hope United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall and grounds were transformed into a Jerusalem Marketplace for a week, during July 14th–18th of tasting, touching, smelling, hearing, and seeing life as it would have been during the time Jesus was on earth. Easter Egg Hunt & Lunch - 2008

Camera On Saturday, March 15, 2008 the children of New Hope had a wonderful time on their Easter egg hunt on the church grounds. After gathering up all the eggs the children enjoyed lunch with their families. Our thanks to Lindsay Chambers for coordinating the event and many thanks to all who helped make the Easter egg hunt and lunch a success.

Understanding How Preschoolers Learn

Children develop and acquire skills through a predictable sequence of stages. At New Hope United Methodist Church a learning environment is provided that allows a child to build upon existing skills. Children accommodate new information by interacting with concrete materials and experiencing the environment through their senses. NH UMC provides an atmosphere where each child feels loved and accepted as a special person created by God. Parents and teachers working together support each other in providing positive learning experiences for children. Children experience God’s love and a sense of self-worth through love and acceptance.
